Several fellowship award programs exist, which can provide graduate student stipends, tuition allowances, and funds for other purposes (e.g., equipment purchase). Examples of such fellowships are the NASA Graduate Student Research Program (GSRP), National Science Foundation Fellowships, Space Grant Fellowships, and The National GEM Consortium Fellowship Program. Announcements of these fellowships are typically made annually via brochures, departmental announcements, sponsored websites, and email distribution. Interested students are encouraged to be proactive in requesting fellowship information from departmental offices or The Graduate School.

In addition, the Graduate Student Fellowship Scholarship Matrix is awarded to newly admitted first-time, full-time students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement in their undergraduate education and who have submitted an application for admission, official transcripts, and standardized test scores to UAH are automatically considered for a Graduate Student Fellowship. Online students are ineligible for consideration.

Endowed fellowships/scholarships for graduate students exist in several departments. Please contact your department to inquire or contact financial aid to ask specifically for graduate level awards.
