Boolean algebra, Boolean function minimization techniques, design and analysis of combinational circuits, design and analysis of sequential circuits. Computer hardware organization, including CPU, instruction representation and executive. Programing in a representative assembly language, including floating point programming. Overview of software systems: loaders, assembler, compiler, interpreters, operating systems. A lab section must be scheduled for this course. Prerequisites: CS 214.
